Fernanda Marques Architecture’s Presence at CASACOR 2024

The “Terrae Brasilis” project was conceived under the 2024 campaign theme, “The Present, the Now,” where CASACOR’s curatorial team invites professionals to use their creativity to address the complexities of our time and reflect on the impact of each action or choice in their projects, particularly regarding living spaces,” says Livia Pedreira, curator of the exhibit.

“Among the environments I have presented at CASACOR, my favorite is the most recent one, Terrae Brasilis, which celebrates Brazilian roots and culture in a poetic and tangible manner. The combination of innovative design, sustainable materials, and Brazilian art makes this project a special highlight in my career,” comments Fernanda Marques.

High-Quality Materials for an Elegant and Sophisticated Atmosphere

In its 160m², the space invites a sensory journey that combines art, sustainability, and appreciation of the present moment. High-quality materials, such as those from Hunter Douglas, were chosen to create diverse textures and an elegant environment, including translucent walls, perforated metal, Miniwave, and vaulted slatted panels.

The ambiance is defined by a careful selection of furniture, notably the exclusive designs by Fernanda Marques Architecture, including the Landscape sofa and Maxx armchairs. These pieces add elegance and provide a unique contemporary aesthetic to the space.

All these choices reflect not only aesthetic priorities but also environmental responsibility. The commitment to sustainability permeates every aspect of the project, from material selection to the arrangement of elements.

An Environment Celebrating Diversity

The living room, meticulously planned, serves as the centerpiece of the space. Here, visitors are immersed in an atmosphere that celebrates diversity and the talent of artists on every wall. The space is dynamic and inviting, with a bar adding an extra layer of sophistication and social interaction.

The wooden vault, created in collaboration with Hunter Douglas, is more than an architectural feature; it symbolizes unity and transcendence. Its imposing presence not only visually defines the space but also invites visitors to contemplate the present and connect with their own essence. The integrated winter garden provides a serene break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Surrounded by lush vegetation, viewers are reminded of the importance of nurturing not just their senses but also the environment around us.

According to Fernanda, the artwork will be chosen based on themes that complement the overall aesthetic of the space, adding layers of meaning and visual interest. The result is an environment that is both visually impressive and invites contemplation and relaxation, combining carefully selected design elements to create a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere.

“With this, I aim to leave a legacy of innovation, sustainability, and respect for cultural roots. I want to inspire future generations of architects to adopt a multidisciplinary approach and value both the past and the present in their projects. My goal is to create spaces that meet functional needs, promote well-being, and celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of our country,” concludes the architect.

Fernanda Marques’ Participation in CASACOR

Fernanda Marques’ first experience with CASACOR was in 1998. At that time, the decision to become a part of the exhibition was driven by her passion for creating innovative and inspiring environments. This challenging and exciting opportunity allowed her to showcase her skills and creativity on an important stage. It was this experience that solidified her decision to continue participating and contributing to CASACOR. After an 11-year hiatus, the architect returns with an evolved, consolidated identity that references the work of the last decade.
