SP–Arte 2025: Fernanda Marques by Breton

The Power of the Ocean, Now in Form — Sculptural Design Takes Center Stage in a New Collection Unveiled at SP–Arte 2025

For the second consecutive year, Fernanda Marques joins SP–Arte in partnership with Breton, this time unveiling a brand-new furniture collection that reinforces the strength of their long-standing collaboration. Conceived as a living gallery, the space moves beyond the traditional notion of a trade show booth — it becomes an invitation to contemplate, to feel, and to engage in a dialogue between art, design, and architecture.

Design as Experience

The layout was anchored by the grandeur of the Península Dining Table, the signature piece of the new collection, which defined the flow and circulation of the environment. From there, the rest of the furniture was strategically arranged to create shifting perspectives and distinct moments of interaction — reinforcing the idea of a living space in constant evolution.

At the heart of the exhibition was the debut of the Oceano collection, designed exclusively by Fernanda for Breton. Inspired by tides, textures, and the organic forms shaped by the ocean over time, the line captures the delicate balance between fluidity and solidity, precision and natural form — hallmarks of Fernanda’s design philosophy. Each piece is conceived as a functional sculpture, where form and ergonomics are seamlessly integrated. “Each piece in this collection was inspired by the grandeur and fluidity of nature, seeking to reflect its strength and organic essence in a unique and sophisticated way. My aim was to capture the beauty of the natural world — from peninsulas to cliffs, islands to coves, and the water that surrounds them — and reinterpret it into forms and volumes that offer both aesthetic value and practical function,” explains Fernanda Marques.

Also featured were timeless classics such as the Golden Cabinet and the Maxx Chair, signature pieces from previous collections that underscore the enduring quality and continuity of this creative partnership.

Architecture on a Human Scale — A Sophisticated and Immersive Atmosphere

More than a furniture showcase, the exhibition space was a celebration of design as a sensory language — a defining feature of Fernanda Marques’s architectural work. Lighting played a pivotal role in this immersive experience: carefully planned to accentuate volumes, highlight voids, textures, and finishes, it brought out the sculptural nature of each element while creating a warm, intimate, and contemplative environment — a space of introspection and beauty.

The installation marked a new chapter in the ongoing collaboration between Fernanda and Breton — a project that extends her architectural language into the realm of product design, where space is crafted for living and connection, and design takes the lead in an effortless, organic way.
